After a nearly unbearable wait, Katzenhatz is finally here! Fellow Long Beach publisher, Bank Heavy Press’s highly anticipated release includes many of my favorite poets and friends, including Zack Nelson-Lopiccolo, Stephanie Ervin, Danielle Mitchell, Karie McNeley, Carissa Mercado, Larry Duncan, Thomas R. Thomas, Kevin Ridgeway, Toren Wallace, Olivia Somes, and G. Murray Thomas. My poem, “To Agree Philosophically”, appears along with an interview with myself and Nancy Lynee Woo about our presses, Sadie Girl Press and Lucid Moose Lit. If that wasn’t enough, there’s one more exciting part! I also have a very rare, almost never seen, actual drawing of mine included in this publication. It’s full of art of cats in hats by poets. You will have to buy you own copy to see for yourself on Bank Heavy Tumbler. Also. give them a “Like” on Facebook!

All About My Name Poetry Series

cropped-hi-res_logo1Ever wonder why “Sarah Thursday”? No, it’s not my legal name, but the one I have chosen. You can read my poem “Hammer of My Name“,  on the Silver Birch Press website. It was written just for this series where many poets explain the origins of their names. This series will continue through the month of June and July. It already includes many of my favorites, like G. Murray Thomas, Thomas R. Thomas, Barbara Eknoian, Rick Lupert, Lynne Thompson, and Robin Dawn Hudechek, among others.

Hedgerow #32: Silver Brick Road

So excited to have another poem (with one in the next issue as well) in Hedgerow: a Journal of Small Poems! They have included “Silver Brick Road” at the very bottom of the issue. I wrote it about my friend Aly who has taught me so much about the power of optimism. Take a moment and read through the issue.

Pyrokinection, April 2015

hello_kitty_riding_pinkie_pie__by_dellanova-d652jo1The wonderful editors at Pyrokinection have been kind enough to publish a little postcard poem I wrote called “To Hello Kitty from My Little Pony at We Labs“.  It’s a special poem to me because I wrote it the second time I ever attended The Poetry Lab almost two years ago. The same place I met many people who would come to change my life forever. You can read this poem and many others at all the incarnations of Kind of a Hurricane Press.
